Centro Tecnológico Lurederra (LUR) - ES

Lurederra Foundation for Technical and Social Development (LUR) is a non-profit, private technological centre created in June 1999 by the association of several public authorities, financial organizations, RTD organizations and companies in diverse productive fields, totaling more than 20 independent entities. LUR performs activities of RTD on behalf of the industries and other economical agents within its sphere of influence, followed by implementation of the innovations developed at their production sites. The organization is a Spanish CIT (Centre of Innovation and Technology) recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Science with the number 98.

Main RTD fields where LUR is active are:

  • Nanoparticles:
In the field of nanomaterials, LUR is mainly active in the manufacturing of simple and complex nano-oxides with small sizes and high purity. The Centre counts on a state-of-the-art FSP nanoparticle production plant with a capacity for continuous operation up to 500 g/h and a lab-scale plant (100g/h) for R&D activities. In addition, the Centre is skilled in physical-chemical treatment of nanoparticles for the development of innovative industrial nano-products, and in the treatment of mineral nanoparticles for its use in polymeric matrix.

  • Non-metallic materials:
Advanced processing of plastics, including co-extrusion-blowing, mono and double screen extrusion, injection, moulding injection. Material development, such as multicomponent systems with controlled response or sensitized intelligent materials.

  • Advanced environment:
Development of technologies related with reduction, recycle and revalorization of organic/inorganic wastes. The field also comprises the application of new materials for diverse fields such as purification treatment of gas and water wastes.

  • Fine chemistry:
Synthesis of special organic functional chemicals: organic-inorganic coupling agents, intermediates precursors for complex reactions, etc. It is included also an area related with sustainable chemistry: development of high efficient sorbent or plastic manufacturing using renewable sources.
